Mathematics Video Game
This mathematics-themed video game, was written in Visual Basic and designed to run on underpowered PCs. It was commisioned by the Childrens Television Workshop, and ran on Taiwanese and Polish TV for some years.

Animated Screen Saver & World Clock
Screen saver design for Goldman Sachs. Animated globe moved around the screen, when it reached an area where Goldman Sachs had a children's program an image of that locations participants would zoom into view. World time zones were configurable and automatically adjusted for DST.
Written in Visual Basic. Used the Windows operating system settings for calculating DST differences for the selected time zones.
Animation Block for Screen Saver
The Little Rubber Duck (LRD) animated screen saver was a particle-type animation, where the ducks would wobble around the screen, turning and spinning when they collided.
Amusing proof of concept screen saver.
Splash Screen and Main Menu
Flash animation for a website to promote a short film.
Opening, "splash page" animation for a film's website. About the only time I didn't feel strongly about having a splash screen on a website. I felt that a movie was an acceptable exception. Required some coding tricks to get the transparency to work across all browsers and platforms.
Kaleidescope Flash Animation
Proof of concept Flash animation.
Inspired by a peer's purely programmed animation work, this was one of my first experiments in Flash's programmable object creation and manipulation system, and the realization that Flash animations weren't just small in size, but were, with good coding, potentially tiny. Although the individual animation loops are short, by varying their length created an overall animation that is much, much longer.
Attract Flash Animation for In-store Game
Flash animation for Swatch used as the attract sequence for an in-store interactive game.
This attract sequence was created in Flash, and output to bitmaps for use in a C programmed game. Additional, similarly themed animations were created for countdowns and game over sequences.
Calendar Design
Calendar design for an automated medication reminder calendar giveaway for convention visitors to give to their patients. Calendar had a user-friendly configuration that allowed end users to enter their medication regimen, which would then generate the calendar
The layout for this calendar design was done in Illustrator. The calendar generation software was written in Visual Basic.
Animated Recycle Logo
Animated recycle logo modeled and rendered in 3D Studio.
A "trompe l'oeil" real 3D object was created for this animated icon. The shading render in 3D Studio produced a lovely looking curve.
Layout Design for Interactive Touch-Screen Kiosk
Layout design for a touch-screen kiosk.
Design proposal for the "look-and-feel" of an information kiosk to be deployed at city clinics.
Interface for a Line Quality Monitoring & Analysis Program
Interface for a DSL company's quality control analysis system. Line quality metrics were sampled from all NYC customers, every ten minutes. GIS mapping used used to plot the locations on the particular phone switch's area. Additional weather data was sampled to provide a comprehensive analysis tool.
Written in Visual Basic this program incorporated a lot of technologies, and some interesting tricks with regard to location plotting and distance calculations. This prototype only dealt with a single switch's data in New York City, but it still used ESRI MapObject's GIS controls to plot customer locations. Once a date range was entered, an animation would play showing the line quality for each customer in the area.
During the testing phase we were fortunate enough to see the results of an error by Bell Atlantic, which showed a ripple effect of poor quality when a major line was accidently cut. Other interesting features, were a data-scraping service that pulled in meteorological data, and a customer to switch distance calculator, which had to take into consideration the curvature of the Earth.
